This week was the first week of classes...and let's just say, they were amazing!
Mondays I have Human Potential in Business Organizations and Current Trends in Italian Cuisine. Human Potential class is going to be extremely thought provoking and interesting. We watched "the Corporation" on our first day...so, should be intrigueing. It starts at 9, which is the latest class I've had in a long time...but it sure does feel early here. haha. Then the Current Trends class is going go to be MY FAVORITE! The teacher, Milva, is such a sweet woman. When we had the dinner on the river, she introduced me to some NC students so that I wouldn't have to walk home alone. She has such a passion for cooking and has so much professional training and experience! :) We could be very good friends! :) She was excited to hear about my passion and commented on what a small world it was. We'll make 3 or 4 dishes each class period and focus on famous chefs, regions, and culture shifts/trends. She gave us a great tour of the market so we knew who to buy from and how to check for freshness and quality! sO helpful! The market can be pretty intimidating!
Tuesdays I don't start until noon. Hehe. My first class is Italian. The professor is very nice and it's fast pace, but managable. I think if i have trouble, I'll be able to get help really easily. My next class is at 6 pm and is Meditteranean and Middle Eastern Cuisines. This class will also be a favorite. We cover lots of different areas on the Meditteranean and will be cooking an appetizer, two entrees, and dessert in every class. I'm going to have soooo many amazing recipes when I'm finished. Every time I have a cooking class, that's just another meal i won't have to buy! hehe. That one gets out at 8:30, so then I walk home in the dark alone...but it's on two main roads, so not very scary.
Wednesday...I don't have class. Exploring the city day! :) Or homework...we'll see.
Thursdays, I have a 9 am class and a noon class. The 9 oclock is "Science of Food, Health, and Well Being" and is a Vegetarian course. Don't know how I feel about that yet, but it's good to know and will make me more versatile as a cook! :) Then noon is Italian. Good to have it twice a week...keeps me up to date. :)
Fridays...I don' t have class and so begins many fun weekends!
THERE! now you know exaclty where i am all the time! :) heheeh. I've met some pretty cool people in classes, too. That's always fun
